This
website isn't here to give you loads more information on the academic side of
uni life. But inevitably, as this is the main reason universities even exist -
it has to get a quick mention.
The big questions on most peoples’ minds when it comes to deciding whether to study for a degree, and what subject they should choose are; whether they'll be clever enough and whether they'll be able to cope with the amount of work. People automatically assume that studying for a degree will be impossibly hard, with loads and loads of work. Of course degrees aren't easy, if they were they wouldn't be worth having, BUT if you achieve the right grades beforehand, and you work when you get here, then you can be pretty sure that you'll have no problems with it.
The amount and type of work you have will differ depending on which degree course you choose but the most important thing is to plan your time well. One of the things students do best is procrastinating, but if you just concentrate on getting your work done, this will leave you plenty of time to do academic study and fit lots of fun stuff in too! With a bit of luck you’ll enjoy your studies and will want to work hard – after all you are paying for them!
